Just like the Orchestra with different parts to sing and different roles to play, so it is with any business, small, medium, or large. There must be some positive vibes to keep the music melodious in the workplace.

At times we work too hard, take on more than we can deal with, make promises we can’t keep up with and before we know it, efficiency begins to drop.  Not only efficiency, but lethargy could also sneak in, downtimes in creativity, and then the blame game amongst team members kicks in.

As the business leader, perhaps all we need to do is to just reset our tempo to enable our businesses to flow better. There are 4 musical notes you must never miss out on in the workplace.

 

1.Your Business Values.

What values do you hold dear as a business? When you have these values deeply entrenched, it helps you with decision making and taking on what your business can handle?

There are times in the hustle of building the business, you slip out of line and forget what was earlier defined as the core for the business. When you slip, how to go about accepted tasks becomes a challenge and gives you restless nights.

You must always remember your business values consistently to continue to experience and have an aligned sense of direction across teams

2.Your Brand Promise:

Can you say that you are still delivering your brand promise across all your stakeholders(Internal and external)?

Carry out a very honest assessment of your deliverables. What skillset and competencies do you have within, what are your weaknesses? What are your strengths?

Be deliberate about establishing your brand promise and then bring it to life with your actions and words. Once you successfully integrate who you are with your set skills and your brand promise, you will consciously start to block out unrealistic expectations that may make you feel unduly pressured.
